when i accelerate hard up to change lights the oil pressure light comes on.I have checked the level all ok, oil pressure is good at idle and when driving.
Waldonways don't seem to bothered but i am.I guess its due to rapide increase in revs the oil pump is running dry.Has anybody had this problem and what is the cure .I don't want to be another rebuild statistic.

Dodgy oil pressure sensor ?

If it's not then yes you should be worried and I cannot believe Walldenway(sp?) are not more concerned, I guess they think it's just the sensor. Get them to fix it.

I had exactly the same problem on mine and the dealer wasn’t concerned – they said don’t worry as long as there is plenty of oil in it and it drives OK. There was (allegedly) a batch of dodgy oil pressure sensors sent out around May-June time. I had 2 or 3 new ones fitted around that time because they kept playing up and giving stupidly low readings. I’ve now got one which seems reasonably OK but I’m not totally convinced it is 100% accurate.

had exactly the same prob... had new sensor last week.. worked fine until sat lunchtime... then hey presto.. low readings and a little red light... yet again oil level is good.

Does anybody know if there is more than one sender unit? I drove it this morning under hard acceleration oil light comes on pod says 30psi??
Also driving about with oil display on, pressure really fluctuates +-10 degrees. The plot thickens
I think i am off to waldonways and will camp out there untill they take it seriously

Apparently its a faulty oil pressure sensor it must read a certain pressure at a certain revs or the oil light will come on even thought there is still pressure. But guess what? They don't have any and neither do the factory.
Still i am going on holiday so i guess i have someone to baby sit the car for a few weeks
