Ok, should I, shouldn't I?

I've had a '96 4.0l chim for a year now. It's had it's ups and downs - engine blew up taking the radiator with it, clutch failed, roof leaks mucho. I know the score with these cars, and i accept it happily. (especially as the waranty picked up the 4000 pound total for all this).
Now, the warranty is out, and i'm twitchy. Trading in is the obvious way to go, and a black Tuscan speed six with 18inch black wheels is the most evil wheeled object man has created. I need this car. I know i'm going to do it, i just need to know what i should go for, and what to avoid. I know electrics can be a problem etc, but what else - early cars with bad part batches and stuff.
I've got 30 grand to do this with, not lots for a tuscan, so i need to be careful. Please advise me, i am in pain.
ten-four...out.

The new Tuscans are now pretty sorted. Used Tuscans should also be alot better as the first owner has had to have the earlier cars problems resolved. Thus if you buy used check the problem areas have been resolved then it should be no more problematic than any other car. Your problems with the Chimp also seem to be quite a lot.
I drive mine everyday and they are pretty reliable, as much so as my Chimaera.

I've just bought an 18 month old Tuscan for £31000. In my opinion, go for the newest car you can, with the highest mileage you can get. That way, any problems should have been ironed out and any trips to the factory should be a distant memory!
Having said that, mine only had 3600 miles on it when I bought it last weekend, but I've managed to notch up another 550 with no problems at all!

Hi,
Your 30 grand will buy you my Tuscan of the following spec but you will have to be quick
Reflex black, (black, green, purple) brand new 18" wheels and tyres, all mods just done, £2k service done last week, clear indicators all round, silver back seats, upgraded cd system, air con, 9k miles, exhaust and suspension mods done, alloy interior, etc etc etc...
Reason for selling, very very skint and gone back to 340r and sport 160 lotus as well as spending to much on the Evo6!!!!
I don't think you will get one better
Because it's really £26k when you take off whats been spent on wheels tyres mods service sterio all in the last month ((((
On the subject of cars for sale.
Trying to find the former owner of a 2000 W green S6 for sale at Kerridges with black spider alloys, and red rose mods to the brakes and suspension. On @ GBP34K but having read numerous threads am worried that the car might not yet have gone through all the recalls, e.g. lifters etc.
Have had a 111S since new so I know all its foibles, not many, so before going over to TVR would like to know what I might be getting.
Cheers
