Anyone had problems with their speedo reading incorrectly? If so, what problems did you have and what was the solution? So far I've had various solutions from: "TVR garage can fix it onsite" to "It needs to go back to the factory".

I had a speedo callibration problem when I first got my Tuscan. Over about 70mph (and sometimes before) the speedo needle and the digital readout jumped around wildly then settled at 0mph.

The dealership fixed it swiftly and easily.

Some of the early tuscans had problems with speedo's. I know of a couple that stuck at 180mph! Ooops.
Some can be fixed by dealers and some have to go back to factory depending on how bad the problem is.

Thanks for your answers.
My car's fairly new, and had its 1,000 service in early Jan. I'll have to take it in to get it checked out, and I'll post any interesting findings. Here's hoping I get it back soon!!

The sender units seemed to be a problem on some cars giving a pendulum effect on the speedo, once the senders are correctly adjusted the problem is solved.

I had a chat with the little old lady who tests these units during a factory visit on Tuesday and she said she's seeing a lot less problems (particularly with speedo needle 'inconsistencies') with the newer/upgraded units but still gets the occasional one that plays up.

Apparently if we thought the Tuscan dash was complicated (have you seen the electronics behind one of theses dashboards!) the Tamora is even more so..

My speedo goes mad as soon as it goes above 120 - then it stays at least 30mph ahead of the actual speed until the engine is switched off and the pod is reset. I spoke to the dealer but he tells me that it is a return to TVR for the pod, not a software fix.

From what I understand the newer units had problems because of the old style sender unit. A newer sender unit is now fitted that removes the problem. Some cars are upgraded at there service

Can I also suggest you ring the dealer or factory who should explain the changes made to the sender units etc.

I think the new sender fixes the "wavey" speedo. Mine still has the "going faster than you are" problem that John describes. I'll get it sorted at the 6000 service.

Cheers,

Andy.
