I appear to have a wailing banshee somewhere in my car and wonder if anyone could tell me how to get rid of it as it's 'doing my head in!'. Both Gorners and the Factory have tried to sort it but without success.

When I'm driving with the roof on and the windows up the car will make a horrible screaming noise at certain speeds, currently between 30-40mph. It was doing it at 90mph until the factory replaced the windscreen seal. The noise is clearly related to wind as I can make it stop by opening the drivers window about 1cm.

The sound maybe coming from the rear screen not being correctly fitted, do you have big gaps in the upper corners? Try removing and driving without the rear screen & the roof on to see if it goes away.

Give me half an hour, I'm going to try it now.

Hope that sorts your wind problems, otherwise you'll have to stop eating all those baked beans.

Doh, went outside and saw how sunny it was, took the lid off, just back!

Will do proper research tomorrow!

Hmmm, wonder if Deflatine would work?

It's very difficult just to go out for half an hour in a Tuscan.

I get a small wail from the wipers since I fitted Bosch ones with the wind deflector. I think it starts to happen at speeds higher than 40mph though.

Cheers,

Andy.

Too true!

Tried your idea with the rear screen out, sadly it didn't work, but hey this isn't a major problem, once I get over 45mph the noise goes away! Clearly my car was made to be driven quickly!
