Just thought I'd run this one by you

Thought it might be interesting to have another go at Keevil, a wet one preferably this time

Thought I might approach Jay Sheppard regards some tuition as well

This time if it was planned in advance (and the date doesn't change ) might be able to get a full 40 car line up ?

I would certainly be up for it, although a weekend day would be preferable. Not too sure if I can get many more days off this year...

Sounds cool Simon. I second Ed and would prefer a weekend this time.

I'm up for this - but I agree it'll be soooo much easier if it were on a weekend.

Cheers,

Andy.

Defo keen to go. Would be first track day - is Keevil in the wet therefore total suicide?

Keevil is in Wiltshire

Driving Keevil in the wet is certainly not suicide. It is an Airfield and so has ample run off and no armco. So it becomes great fun!

There is a plan to also look at a proper circuit like Donington, great idea except the idea was also to get the back out in the wet and learn how to handle your car with it out of shape! This would be unwise at Donington or any other circuit unless you really know your car!

Still, it's good to talk (and cheap!)

Hi Simon,
looks like I will be back on the road next week.
the guys at the factory, dream machines and warrenty holdings have all done us proud and it has not cost me a penny!

Any how, acn you help me witha question.
There are threads on here about the air box having a crack in them and this effecting the air mixture, in fact we discussed this at Keevil when fixing the throttle cable.
I have noticed that my box is cracked and asked dream machines to look at it. The chap there believes it does not make a difference as the there is no air pressure sensor on a Tusc and it therefore can not adjust the air mixture accordingly, even via the ECU.

Any thoughts please Simon.

There may not be an air pressure sensor, but there is an air temperature sensor and if the air leaks are big enough this could be affected and could cause lean running of the engine which would not be good for the valves etc.I would have the air box repaired/replaced.

I'm currently on a webcast telling me they going to be laying people off in my group....so I might be free!

Seriously, a Friday will be easier for me to take a day off. Can you guarantee some rain though

Cheers,

Andy.

I did express an interest but have two problems.
1. In Prague until Friday, which I would cancel except 2. I have no Tuscan!!!!! Dom at TVR Power has promised to keep it until the damned 6K rpm misfire is cured once and for all. (It wasn't leads, coil, electronics, catalytic converters, but he is taking it personally and has vowed to fix it even if it means sending it back to Blackpool)
Other threads on the 6k misfire I have heard of is some sort of ignition retarding chips?? (should go nice with the fishy fingers??) and throttle bodies, but this has been an issue since I bought last Dec at Fernhurst and they were unable to find it either. Its done 7 k and had a rebuild since then.
So. Me all done feeling sorry for myself..Sorry...have a good time, and i will be up for a track day later into the wet season
all the best

I'm still up for it,unfortunately the car is not.Which is a bit of a problem.
Engine on it's way to TVR power due to cam wear.So i guess no car to play in for a couple of months.
But i'd still love to do a wet track,so hopefully next time.
Cheers

Ok so the debate has to run around the idea of wether or not you guys feel happy about giving it death on a wet Circuit, OR wether it would be better to head for a wet Airfield with run off!!!

My first thought is that it should be an Airfield - hence Keevil, but this won't be a weekend (it only runs on Monday)

If most of us think it should be a Circuit, lets look out for a suitable one for January onwards

BTW
I'll be at Hullavington on Friday 31st - It will be wet!!!

For hooning around and seeing what happens when you push it too hard in the wet, it's got to be an airfield I think.
