Reared it's head again. Noticed that the car was running rich and got my mechanic to look at the exhaust as I revved the engine to see if it was oil smoke. Poor guy then got hit by 2 50p-sized pieces of debris coming out of the n/s exhaust!
He diagnosed it as bits of my (virtually brand new) cat.

Hmmmmmmmm, I had an EFI warning ages ago and my dealer said "don't drive it", because if the fuel mix is rich it can destroy your cats. See www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=5&h=&t=34491
This is the first time anyone but my dealer has suggested that the EFI warning is serious, most responses involve hills and rain so if anyone in future does get the EFI light do be very cautious before driving it!
