Starter motor and failing earth straps - where ?
Discussion
A technical question here.
I believe I may have starting problems due to a known issue with a poor earth contact for the starter motor.
Can anyone tell me where I should be looking to check this out. The starter motor looks like it sits under the airbox so it will be a devil to get to. Anyone offer me some direction on this please? TIA.

I can answer it myself now.
Earth strap is between bell housing and chassis on O/S of car. Need to take front O/S wheel off for unhindered access. Highly recommended that if the car refuses to crank over properly (i.e. sluggish as if battery is flat - and low volts appears on the dash) - and you are certain that the battery itself is not at fault: remove earth lead and clean all contacts so they are shiny and free of corrosion/contamination. Do likewise for the attachment points on chassis and bell housing to make good metal on metal contact. Then smear grease over the points to keep water at bay.
Important lesson learned on this one - and mine is not the first Tuscan to have been recovered on a flat bed trailer due to this fault creeping in from suddenly without warning.
I hope this post saves future hassle for Tuscan owners should they get this annoying problem.
