Hi guys,

I’m looking to buy a new TVR, don’t know what to go for though. I want performance and reliability; they are both as important as each other.

The two I had in mind were the Cerbera LW RR and the Tuscan S. Correct me if I’m wrong, and even though one of the dealers did not say one was more reliable than the other, he did say that all the new technology is in the Tuscan. I took that as a hint.

I live in London and the car will be my everyday car. I’m also cut between the two looks wise. I was driving a Cerbera in central London and parked next to a Ferrari (can’t remember which model, but it was nice and new), when I cam out of the shop everyone was looking at the Cerbi and taking pictures as oppose to the Ferrari. Will the same happen with the Tuscan S? damn I’m so confused.

I’m also told the Tuscan S will handle better also due to its shorter wheelbase.

BTW I know what a Cerbera looks like in Crystal Topaz Pearescent (I love it), anyone got a pic of a Tuscan in the same or any unusually nice colours.

Cheers,

Such a thing exists as a reliable TVR. It's called a "Griffith". It'll draw crowds just as well as a Cerbera or Tuscan.

Reliability:

1st Griff
2nd AJP Cerbera
3rd Tuscan

Desirability? ANY

Just a personal opinion you understand?

What About a Noble M12 GTO3

Same money as a Tuscan S.

They really turn heads. No reliability issues either

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the advice.

I have spoken to the factory and they admit there were issues with the earlier Tuscans; however they say that is no longer the case since they changed one of their suppliers, the problem being they did not hardened the finger folders correctly.

This said are there any other reliability issues with the Tuscan S?

Thx in advance,

Yite

I believe the post 03 tuscans are a safe bet. The new tuscans i think have the 3.6 power plant which is in the T350 and the Tamoras which dont seem to have any engine issues at all ( I THINK ). The Tuscan S has the older 4.0 power plant but is deemed to be ok now.

HI look on my profile or contact Tripps or Pies (both on here) as they have some great pics of my Topaz Tuscan. I think as both the cars are awsesome you have to decide whether open top motoring is important to you, it certainly was a deciding factor in my choice.

Yep best bet, if you can, is to go for the new cars. Mine (03 plate) has been great and others that I know who bought new this year have not had any problems.

Best still go in with eyes wide open though!

Don't mean to bring anyone down about this but the factory have been saying they've fixed this problem every other month for the last 3 years... and then another engine goes.

Reason people haven't had issues with 03 models is that they haven't done any mileage yet!
