How do I stop the rear window squeaking?!
Discussion
I'm sure I'm being very stupid here...can understand putting velcro on the 2 catches - there are 2 surfaces for both sides of the velcro to attach - on the perspex however, does one side of the velcro go on the perspex and the other (ie. hooks or loops)go on the car body near the roll bar or does it simply wrap round the perspex without hooking or looping into its male (or female) partner.....I've confused myself more now!!!
I'll go and take a picture of mine and e-mail it to ted. All you use is the soft(not hook) side of the velcro. You put a thin strip about 10-15mm along the top surface of the perspex where it inserts under the roll bar. You do not need to do the underside as there is a rubber seal.
The noise is made by the contact between the perspex and the GRP directly, any bits of dust also exasperate the situation. The velcro acts as a pad between the GRP and the perspex, velcro unlike the perspex doesn't make a noise. Anyhow off to use the camera in the car park.
