Can,t get my bonnet off
Discussion
Get someone to help you.
Getting it off is ok, but putting it on is a bit awkward on your own.
I had to figure it out last night after the passenger side wiper came away from the arm connecting it to the other wiper.
I fumbled around for ages trying to figure out the catches at the base of the screen. Sounds like you have found them. Just keep pushing the sleeve which surrounds the centre bit you can see until it pops open.
Easy to see how it works once you've done it, but a pain finding out.

Depending on your car you may have to lift the bonnet slightly OR you may have to push it down a bit. The hardest part is squeezing your fingers in there in the first place!
Once pooped lift (with help) upwards and backwards overthe roof until the front clears the service bonet then place VERY carefully on something soft (lawn etc)
While you're in there check your airbox isn't split ... see these threads...
