mine is going in next month to have it fitted. it can only be done at blackpool. there is about a 4 week lead time they need the car for 5 days cost £ 1960.00 plus transport costs . i managed to get them to pick car up from my local dealer and return it for £100.00 from kent not a bad deal i thought.

Keep us informed if you believe it makes a worthwhile difference.

It makes a difference, but not a huge difference. COLD air comes out, but its got a lot to cool.....with hindsight, I'd still get it done if you can afford it.

well the car is finally back the A/C does make a difference but it is not as good as you would expect in a modern car.If you have the money fit it.
My only gripe is why does the car have to go back to blackpool? It is only 12 hours work to fit, most of the pipe work is already fitted.I really missed not having to car for 3 weeks

I have aircon or climate control in my other cars but didn't bother with the Tuscan. Having just come through the hottest summer on record I'm glad I saved the £2k. If it's hot, you take the roof off.

(I might consider it if I still lived in London and spent all my time sitting in traffic jams).

I've had my aircon looked at on a couple of occasions and the aircon guy can't believe how poor the output readings are (both in terms of flow and temperature) compared to any other car he has tested! This is even with the gas fully charged and the system checked over.

He feels that the system would be better if you got a better output on the pod-mounted vents. He thinks that he could 'Tee' off of the demister vents (which have a better output) so that you could get a better output to your face etc when these were closed off. I'm going to get him to do the change next time he is in. He reckons that the piping is household sink overflow pipe(!) so it is readily available.

That's my take on it...

Though, as I have a bald noggin, I did burn my scalp a good few times this summer All part of the fun!

The reason i got it is i live in kent and work in london. So i am either on the motorway or stuck in traffic. If i just used the car for blasting around the south downs on my days off i would not have bothered. It depends what you want it for i guess.
They must have improved the air flow from the pod because my blast out of there and does do a resonable job

Living in London, and after suffering in my Chim 500 with no air-con, it was a must have when I specced my Tuscan. 3 years of use with no problems, and although no-where near as good as air-con in a normal modern car, it means the difference between being a sweating pig while in traffic(even with roof off) or being just a pig.
