Snapped gear linkage
Discussion
Bloody thing snapped on Friday leaving me stuck in 2nd. Luckily it was quite close to home, mostly downhill and little other traffic around. So I used a combination of quick blasts and coasting to make it back to my own driveway. (Coasting downhill at 60mph with the roof off is a silent and very surreal experience in a Tuscy!)
The gearlever is obviously disconnected inside somewhere and moves back/forward but not sideways. Fingers crossed it can be fixed without gearbox removal. Engine and gearbox were removed about 3 months ago (engine rebuild and missing 5th gear) so I'm a bit p*ssed off to say the least.
Anyone else had this happen?
Jon
p.s. Nice motoring weather

Repaired pretty quickly. Bolt had come undone, probably not done up properly when the gearbox was removed a couple of months ago. A bit worrying! Hope all the other bolts have been tightened enough!
Dealer has also made an upgrade/modification to the gear linkage moving everything slightly backwards. Reverse is now a bugger to engage, hopefully it will loosen up.
