My car went away a few weeks ago to have a problem fixed, which I hadn't heard of before.

The problem was there is a rod that comes from the engine and drives the alternator. The rod had become loose within the engine and was making a squeaking, groaning noise so I stopped and got the car recovered.

It had to go back to Blackpool to have the engine taken apart and the rod re-attached. It is a real shame as the engine was running spot-on and sounded sweet! Hope they haven't accidentally changed anything as it really was perfect!

My fear was that the factory is closing down on Saturday and any cars still there won't be touched until it reopens in September?! However I have just had a phone call to say that my car is now on the back of a transporter and on it way to me! Should be able to collect it from the dealer tomorrow afternoon.

I will keep you all posted and let you know how it runs etc. Was getting worried as it has taken just over 3 weeks to fix and missing this glorious weather!

I am so happy to be getting my car back, but also annoyed about the rubbish courtesy car that I received for the 3+ weeks it was out of action... But that is another story! Going to see what deal the garage can do to in order to keep me a happy customer!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather and I will post again in the next few days with an update!

Mmmm - Moonraker....

Good result before the Summer Holiday

( Do you think they all climb aboard a big red bus and let PW drive them to Greece.....)

I had the same problem with mine. The key way (sure that's spelt wrong) came loose on the shaft causing it to sieze.

Quite a job to fix such a small thing

I will be taking it for a blast down some nice country lanes when I get it today. I am sure I will be round the Willis building in the near future so keep your eyes peeled and your ears open!

Can't wait now! Will let you know how it runs!

It is back! It is running really sweet and sounds awesome! No more squeaky noise! The only problem is that in the heat the boot seal has come loose from the boot as the glue has lost adhesion. The garage removed the entire strip and asked that I take it back in a few days to be re-glued. I am not overly annoyed though as they said they will put it back on and I now have my car again!

Now a happy chap again!
