unevan boot lid fit
Discussion
My boot seems to have developed a new fault - can anyone help.
When you look at the profile on the drivers side, behind the hinge, it seems to be higher than the car.
You can push it down but it does not seem to stay.
There also seems to be no adjustment.
Anybody else seen this or know a fix?

Can you post a few pix at different angles so I can see the exact problem please.
Mine was a lousy fit when I bought the car 4 weeks ago - now much better (but not perfect)
You can move the boot lid on the hinges (2 bolts - be careful as too much movement can make the lid scuff the bodywork) and up/down can be adjusted with spacers.
Watch that the strut doesn't get in the way when you're tweaking.
As I say, Pix will help
Thinking about it, check the fit with the strut removed as this may be causing the problem (new ones are about £13 + VAT)

solved.
Thanks for the tip on the strut, although it was not that, I did strip it and regrease it. Picstures will appear in the manual thread.
Here is how I sorted the lid in case any of you have a similar problem.

Blimey St George - that file's 13.3 megs - will take 2 hours to download at 40kb/s. Do you have any individual pix (compressed jpegs etc) up to about 100K each?

Had the same problem with mine. Simply loosen the couple of bolts that attach the boot onto the hinges (located under the boot) (not the ones near the petrol cap)and you'll notice how much the boot moves about - then simply tighten it all back up when it fits....might take a while though and can be very fustrating.
