Has anyone fully sussed the workings of the alarm/immobiliser combo on the Tuscan?

Now standard lock and arm (hold for two seconds, get two indicator flashes, all sorted) is fine. This is all the TVR manual mentions.

Now on the little cards from META it says hold for four seconds, get three indicator flashes and you don't activate the internal sensor. This doesn't seem to work on mine, hold for four seconds and it arms two flashes, and then the third flash seems to be it disarming and unlocking itself.

So what do you do if you want to lock it & leave it for a short while with the roof off? Does the internal sensor get triggered with every gust of wind? Where the hell are the internal sensors in the Tuscan? I can't find anything that looks like the sensors I'm used to.

Why does sometimes (occasionally) the alarm beep when arming? Talking with Steve and his new Tuscan at the last mid-Essex meet, he thought it was a long hold set off the beeping. This doesn't seem to be the case on mine.

Maybe it is something to do with whether the engine has been started since last disarm?

Also which flashing light do I look at to see what last set the alarm off? The red immobiliser one, or the green one on the central door lock? Neither seem to flash with the patterns described in the manual.

Now if I was to email the factory through the general contact email with these kind of questions, are they good at checking & replying to that, or do emails to them tend to vanish in the ether?

Cheers

(sorry for the split post)

Alarm beeps to indicate a door or boot/bonnet is open or interior light is still on. So if you arm it before the interior light has gone off it will beep 4 times. If the light has gone out there will be no beep.

Microwave sensor unit is under front of centre console and is adjustable. You should be fine to leave it roof off without the alarm going off unless someone starts poking around near the centre console area.

ours has been fine, when i have the roof off and park her up, just hold down the alarm button longer, sometimes 3 flashes - sometimes more as long as its not 2 or 4, then the alarm is set with the interior sensors off - sometimes on normal setting she gives an extra beep - modern technology...

Right, dealer says:

Didn't know about the 4 second, 3 flash, no interior sensor thing. Suggest it might not work that way in the Tiv as they replace the standard ultrasound sensors with mircowave ones.

Should be fine to arm with the roof, sensor detects mass not movement. (seemed ok in my experiment on the drive tonight)

Which LED to watch to see what has triggered the Alarm? The one TVR don't bother to fit apparently. They can read the alarm CPU at dealer if need be.

I seem to recall the Meta information saying that it is the indicators that flash out a sequence to show which trigger has actvated the alarm, not some internal sensor
