I understand that the close ratio box fitted to the 'S' only got sorted fairly recently. Has anyone sucessfully got TVR to retrofit the close ratio box?
A good question I would like to know the answer to since I bought mine last year and it doesn't have it yet. And it is a £2k option or thereabouts.....
I have raised this with Jason Oxley at the factory and hopefully will be seeing one return with my engine back to Mole Valley.
I'll let you know if it happens.

I have the close ratio gear box as it came with my new 'S' delivered the 1st March this year.
Anybody got an e-mail for Jason?
I'm having a close ratio box retro-fitted to my S on the 11th of August at TVR Centre. It was part of the deal when I bought the car so its not costing me anything. I will let you know how I get on! (is it really a £2k option)
I can't see why it should cost any more as it's only the first three ratios that are different.

It is a £2k option on the standard Tuscan.

Ok have had the close ratio box on for a week now and yes it does accelerate faster in the first 3 gears, it has actually made for smoother changes as I usually miss second gear anyway (since my Ride Drive course). I'm not sure I would have paid for it, its good to have to bring my S more in line with newer ones but there isn't that much difference. (not £2k worth anyway). Might be more noticable on a track.
