I don't f'ing believe it. I get out of my car this morning and do the usually check over, and some thieving kid has knicked two of my valve caps, presumably for his/her bike.

I have the standard silver/chrome ones - can I get identical ones from Halfords or do I have to visit my dealer.

Cheers,

Andy.

I had all 4 of mine nicked on a recent trip to Belgium, probably on some 1978 Fiat now, very stylish !! I brought some hexagonal chrome ones from Halfords, thay look pretty good. If you want the original's, I expect it's a trip to your local dealer.

Replace them with ones that have a grub screw in or just tighten them up using a 10mm spanner I have not lost any since doing this.

Thanks for the info. I bought the only set Halfords had as I want to have them covered for Outlon Park on Saturday. Seemed fairly similar so I'm not too bothered. Next time I park at that particular sports centre I'm taking them off (little gits play there in the school holidays - no respect for the daddy of all cars!).

Cheers,

Andy.

Andy,
That is spooky!, looking round my car this morning, as you do!!. some pillock has made off with a valve cap, but what is weird the car was in the garage, albeit, open for everyone to see.(posing again), I probably deserve it!!, garage closed from now on.

BTW Geoff - it wasn't me that nicked it.

Mine went last night too while I was parked in Southampton !

Luckily I bought some cheap metal ones from Halfords a while ago. Not quite the nice heavy metal ones but they look OK.

I had this - the TVR Centre's spares dept. sent me 8 through the post for less than a tenner incl. of postage.

I had three out of the four nicked in Spain. Went into the local Carrefour for replacements and was told "that it happened all the time" Got some chrome ones from them for very little money and they are still there. Hang on I'll just go and check.....Yep still there!

TVRCC do some very nice caps bit....
You could always try wiring them into the mains when you park up.
I am told there is a secret default mode to the TVR factory alarm which alows you to wire the Chassis to 240 Volts system AC which does not affect the system but is guaranteed to keep the filthy weevils away.

If you are worried about earthing your home elecric? Not aproblem rubber tyres sort that out. Tremendous!

Not you Bob, probably some knob or knobs, having a bet, "dare you take a valve cap off that that TVR", so the knob did, and he won the bet !!!. He won,t do it again!! Your car sounds and looks good

On an even more serious note, I checked my tyre pressures before adding air at Outlon Park this weekend, and the little b***ers had let the air out of the tyres they had taken the caps off.

So a warning - if valve caps get nicked - check your tyre pressures. I drove all the way up the M1 and M6 to Chesire with one side of the car at half pressure!!!

Cheers,

Andy.
