Has anyone removed the Pioneer stereo from their Tuscan? I have fitted some front speakers & need to wire them in, but the head unit seems reluctant to come out. The extraction tools slide in OK & can hear a click when they are in position, but they don’t seem to grip on anything and just pull straight out. Any advice appreciated.

we didn't have the extraction tool, so hubby managed to use 2 small screwdrivers either side, and actually hooked it out. just be careful not to catch the leather surround, as it does tear quite easily. we found that taking off the rectangular front cover gave better access.

hopes this helps

Seems like you're sorted now. I

've just replaced my Pioneer with a VDO head unit and 10CD changer in the boot and am now thinking about speakers in the front.

I'd appreciate any pix, tips, ideas to help.

Thanx

The front speakers I fitted were Poineer TS23's,& have seen good reports on them from other Tuscan/Tamora owners.

They are about £58 by mail order from Edworthy's.It makes quiet a difference to the sound & I can actually hear my CD's on the move now

Aha - I see!

For a minute there I thought you'd put them in the doors. That was what worried me due to the lack of clearance for the windows.

What you've done looks like a very good alternative.
Thanks for the pix.
