Being out here in the antipodies, I took the air box off to change the air filter, only to find that the plastic air box is heavily distorted, both top and bottom and where they fit over the trumpets the seams are splitting (glue coming un done). I am trying to reshape it but am just a little concerned that with the onset of summer and 40degree outside temperatures, as well as the engine heat, just how well this part will hold up. Is there a carbon fibre / fibre glass replacement available, and if so from whocan I buy this from. I am also trying to stop the vibration in the "flying bridge", has anyone completed a mod that successfully cures it? Thanks for any help
a bit off topic but is yours the only Tuscan in Australia? Also - how are you finding servicing & have you had engine problems that have been sorted out in WA?
I am a kiwi who will eventually return home and am still concerend about taking my tuscan with me - what are your thoughts / experiences with this

Yup, having now takien a hold load of Tuscan airboxes off - due to throttle cable repairs!!!
..and having had mine off this morning again, i can safely say that the air box is carp!
They all have slightly different tolerances, ie no tolerance at all. It seems some have huge gaps in them such that the air intake isn't filtered at all, they are all held together with evo-stick, they all have very fragile nozzles where the rubber tubes fit (best to twist the tube and not pull!)
The mechanic with me this morning couldn't quite believe it, he commented on the fact that the air temp sensor for the ECU which is the one that has a connection on top of the air box must be so exposed to outside air temp to make it almost not worth reading!
The filter seems to suck so much dirty air from the oil accumulator that the filter oils up very quickly and this leaves big very dirty deposits on the throttle bodies/butterflies. Is this part of the engine rebuild problem ? Dirt getting into the pots ?
uuum! how much is this part worth - maybe it's worth a redesign
If I had the time I think I would steadily go through the Tuscan replacing all the duff parts with real ones!

I have been making enquiries here in Perth Western Australia about having a fibre glass air filter box made. This would have all the normal advantages, more heat resistant, smoother on the inside to aid the air flow etc etc,. In order to bring it in at a price resembling the same light weight plastic part available in the UK (GBP 193.88 - TVR Gear or GBP 165 from the factory) I need to make at least six of them. For a little more I could get them made in carbon fibre..... are there six or more people out there interested in purchasing a decent air filter box. If you are email me through my profile with a UK phone number and I will get in touch directly.
Yahoo I am very interested in adopting an induction system similar to yours could you email me (via my profile) with a UK telephone number that I can contact you at, or post plans, thoughts, methodolgy etc here? Thanks in advance. (there doesn't appear to be an adress for you in your profile)
