Mileage vs Rebuild
Discussion
You're presented with two used Tuscans. Both the same age and spec.
One has 5k on it with no engine rebuild to date. One has 30k on it with one rebuild at 20k.
Which one is the more appealing? Low miles, or security of having had the rebuild - bearing in mind, some Tuscans have needed more than one!

we went for the car with low mileage, only 2400 when we bought her, now at 5500 miles (2 months later)we are waiting to hear ref rebuild and engine rattle that developed sunday.
still wouldn't change the car though, just want her back asap - think its pot luck, the colour and interior was exactly what we wanted - just got to hope for the best and make sure you have a good warranty

We're talking about 2001 cars. If I was looking at any other car, I would be trying to keep the mileage requirement down to a minimum. But, because of the Tuscan's track record, I'm inclined to believe that a car with slightly more on the clock would have ironed out it's initial niggles, with less chance of a subsequent rebuild.

Naith,
I too am in this predicament, see this earlier post:

It seems weird to be looking for a relatively new car, but thinking that the slightly higher mileage & 1 recent rebuilt is better than low mileage - but hey thats what i'm leaning towards.
I guess that TVR's are certainly unique - even down to the buying criteria !!
