Track Days and Wheel Centres
Discussion
Just got back from Racing Green, where i picked up two new wheel centres and logo's after losing them at the Keevil trackday.
They gave me a good tip on how to stop losing them.Which must be a common thing as i found one while there.
Apparently you just drill a tiny hole in the centre of each one,all the way through. It lets the air in and out as the wheels get hot.
So thank you guys at Racing Green, shame i didn't know sooner and save myself 30 quid.

Or you could just take them out before you go on track !
I notice that Racing Green also fill tyres with nitrogen instead of compressed air (the joke being that it's lighter than air so doesn't sink to the bottom!)
In reality it doesn't expand with heat in the same way as an oxygen mix so the tyre pressures don't change so radically
Maybe Helium would be better, it would make the BHP per ton figure better

Has anyone actually done this and found it to work? I have recovered some lost wheel centres and they appear to shrink with the heat and are two small for the holes once they have been "heat treated". I always remove mine before track days now.
