sh*t -engine noise - just happened - help

any help greatly appreciated, just enjoyed a fine day at the uxbridge auto show, driving home, literally just pulled onto the drive and then the rattle started, definately from the front, could be more over the passenger side, if you rev more, it rattles louder, car has only got 5,800 miles on the clock and a year warranty.

car is so hot at the moment that the fans keep cutting in, so will check rattle later, plenty of oil on the dip stick - is this a trailer job to the dealer?? - don't want to drive it and cause any further damage. any one had this before that can give us a clue what it could be, obviously engine orientated, but as its the wifes everyday car, it can't be off the road too long - bloody hell !! wait for your replies!!!

Sorry to hear about engine problems.

Two possible causes - finger followers or as with my car a problems with cats.

The problem I had with cats was intermittant and resulted from a faulty lambda sensor. You didn't mention any engine related problems with your car last week therefore I suspect rattling may be due to finger followers.

As you have a warranty I would definitely contact the dealer first thing Monday.

Hope I am wrong and rattling is only a minor problem.

hi mark, no such luck unfortunately, just trying to get the car from the dealer to tvr power, as tvr blackpool have a 2 week shutdown in august, and we can't lose the car for 8 weeks. just waiting for tvr service to do their magic - good news is that car is stil under tvr warranty, so hoping this will speed things up!!

wife is gutted - but at least the car got us home!! will keep you updated
