I am led to believe that work started on engineering LHD Tuscans a few months ago but I've not seen/heard anything since. It's certainly part of the long term plan.

Mine was promised for February 2002, but is delayed until October / November of this year. Most of the development has been done, but nothing is finished.
TVR is also waiting for the final version of the new
drive-by-wire system, which is necessary for European
(and American) homologation. This should be ready in
4-5 months. Let's wait and see...

So you have ordered a LHD Tuscan in Belgium. I live in the Netherlands and my dealer doesn't tell us that the LHD Tuscan can be ordered. What is the adress of the Belgian dealer/importer?
Did you made the price in advance?

Price is made in GBP, and is the UK listprice + 10%
This includes the LHD conversion. Peter Wheeler charges
this extra percentage to EVERY car which is exported
out of the UK, just to cover the extra costs for possible warranty issues.
Contact details of the belgian importer are already
given by VERYPLAST below.

Yesterday there was a NewYears-meeting at the Dutch importer, Nimag. The director announced that they are going to build left-hand-driven Tuscans. Delivery in 2003 and they think that they officially can order in the middle of this year.

Sue Stoker phoned me when I was in Switserland a few weeks ago and she told me that there were no official plans to build any LHD in Blackpool whatsoever. They concentrate on domestic market. She suggested that there might be a possibility that there would be a joint venture with another company to build them elsewhere. In the Dutch press we could read an article on the i-telegraaf that such would be the case with a brasilian company. I prefer to have mine done in Switserland. Sue explained that this would ruin any chances of warranty, but I don't care.

I own a RHD TVR Grantura. It is a fun car and only used for low mileage. The problem with a RHD-car is when you drive on smaller way and want to pass an other car. You are very late in discovering cars from the other site.

I drive a RHD cerbera, most of the time in the UK but a couple of times a year on the continent, mostly in NL. Generally no problems whatsoever driving (although, getting out of 2nd with those speed cameras all over is a bit difficult ); overtaking is a bit tricky, but either you take a passenger ("AAAAARGH! NOT NOW!!") or you just floor it... you should be able to overtake in a fraction of the normal time anyway...

Some other disadvantages of driving on "the wrong side": Ever tried to get a ticket in a parking garage and of course there is the item of the trade-in value (much lower).

Cheers,
Peter (and a LHD V8S).

TVR-MADS.co.uk are currently working on a LHD Cerbera and hope to be able to use the lessons learnt, to develop a LHD Tuscan and Tamora. (That is if the Factory don't do it first!) TVR-MADS already do a RHD to LHD conversion for the Griffith.

TVR-MADS will sell a RHD car to anybody in mainland Europe (and will take a LHD trade-in). TVR-MADS will also buy (back) RHD cars registered abroad, so concerns about resale are unfounded.

Enough people drive LHD cars in UK, so driving a RHD in mainland Europe (usually on better quality roads) is not difficult. Try it!
