Guys,

Just been driving along looked over to the passenger foot well and there is a wire hanging down from under the dash its made up of multiple wires taped together with electrical tape going into a plastic block that presents a female connection about 9 female pins reminds me of a PC Printer connector from the same group of wires comes another block presenting another female three pin connector lookes like it sould connect to something!! or is it just a termination....wondering because i am about to go on a 500 mile round trip... any ideas....!!!

That sounds like the laptop diagnostic serial cable, although onn mine thats dangling around near the fuse box ie on the drivers side. The only plugs on the passenger side are fron the heater control unit which are normally plugged in.

Nothing to worry about it sounds like the Heating/ventilation/Air con ECU check that your fan works and air con (if fitted) then push it back were it came from, might be velcroed or just took away Tony

Thanks for the advise it was the PC diagnostic cable.......its funny because it could have also been something to do with the Fan/Heater/Aircon as I only picked it up from the dealer yesterday it had an air con problem.....

Similar thing happended to me, when the heat got to the carpet glue in the footwell, suddenely all the innards electronics fell down..
Forced it back up into the gap whence it came, and will get carpet re-glued by dealer when they finally return my car..

They all do that sir!

Somehow my dealer has managed to wedge the heater control box in like a good'un and it hasn't fallen down since last September! Result.

Cheers,

Andy.

Yes mine did last weekend & hit the wife on the foot. It's also quiet awkward to re-glue the bit of carpet to the fiberglass & then secure the HCU with velcro to the carpet.Hopefully it will stay in place now.
