She's at the dealership - Photos
Discussion
After keeping in close touch with Dave Cumming at TVR I was told that my car was leaving Blackpool yesterday evening and would be at TMS first thing today.
Obviously she's a little bit grubby and dusty but I couldn't resist taking these shots...
...now just another 9 days until delivery, scheduled at the moment for next saturday, after the PDI and the obligatory Tracker fitment.

Thanks, its Grigio Titanio with Portland Grey leather over Black carpets.
I had the leather stitching colour coded (so it stays grey rather than contrasting) and the alloy switgear to try and give the car a certain look. I must admit I'm very, very happy with the result.
TMS seemed to like it as well, so much so that they say they are going to copy the spec and order a car for stock.

I've opted to have the car delivered to my door on the TMS truck rather than pick it up. I want to play it safe whilst I get used to the power. The plan is to take the car out next saturday evening on a selection of empty(ish) (if there is still such a thing) out of the way of traffic, and get aquainted with it slowly.
I don't know the road between TMS and me very well, and it certainly seems quite open and twisty, just the kind of roads that I reckon I should avoid on the cars maiden voyage.
I'd be very interested to hear how other first time TVR owners learned the ropes of their car.

Thanks for poining that out to me Gaffer. I'll edit my original post.
Either way though, he's been brilliant, and kept me informed of exactly were my car is. In fact everyone involved with the purchase right the way through to the factory tour, and now the delviery to the dealership has been brilliant - everyone at TMS, and everyone at TVR, especially Lisa, Danielle, Natasha, the lady (whose name escapes me) in the instrument binnacle department who spent ages showing every combination of button presses imaginable, Ray the audio guy, and, of course, Dave.

You'll be fine, it'll only go as fast as your right foot makes it. You'll be limited to around 3000 rpm for the first 1000 miles anyway so thats about 85 in fifth, 60ish in 4th etc.
My first TVR was a Griff 500 drove it back from Worcester to Derby in the wet in November a few years back no issues.
You'll love it and to be honest I would have thought one of the special moments of buying a brand new TVR would be collecting it from the dealer.
You could always occupy a bit of time next week by driving the road a few times, I've been to TMS most ways in and the roads are pretty good and smooth. Whatever it'll be a special day!
Cheers

Edited because I miss words out when I type - what a plonker!

Gorgeous colour, one of my personal favourites. And if I can ever scrape enough cash together for a new Tamora would probably pick the same for the exteria.
I guess the getting used to it may just depend on what you are used to. And like the others have said, don't floor it in the wet and everything will be fine, just enjoy it and keep grinning.
But would have to pick it up from the dealer. There is something special about picking up a brand spanking new car from the dealer, especially when it as sexy as that. Go on, you know you want to!!

I'm really pleased to se the two-tone leather interior works well. My interior is magnolia leather - I bought it second hand - and the screen reflection is just awful. I've been meaning to have the dash retrimmed in dark green to match the carpets and exterior but was worried it would look a dog's breakfast. I think I'll go ahead now. thanks for the phots.
What a gorgeous colour combo!
When we bought ours (Moonraker black with burgundy leather/black carpet) there was a Titanio Grigio one but I don't think it looked as good as yours.
Change your mind and pick it up - you can pootle round town in these beasties with no problems, just keep your foot light and you will have no worries!

I would certainblky have thought picking it up from the dealer etc. is an experience not to be missed! Certainly when I bought my Griff 500 (second TVR but forst brand new one) it was a fantastic day, get there early chat through with dealer, drive off pub lunch somewhere nice slow burble home etc. It's not really the same having it delivered on the back of a flat-bed is it? Rich... p.s. Looks very nice indeed
