After several little mishaps at Keevil, and no damn book to help, I thought it would be a good idea to try to pull together an online manual of tuscan faults and fixes. If you would all contribute on this thread any faults you have had and what the sucessfull fix was, i will pull them together and publish them. maybe it will help some of us
As many pictures as possible please..

PLease contribute...

Can't take credit for this one as it was posted as a reply here in the Tuscan Forum (Thx again BTW!). It is also a minor but quite irritating problem.

Problem - Seatbelts locking up when parked on a hill.
Solution - move car to somewhere flat and pull the belt free gently.

Not a great start but others will have more I am sure...

PS Nice to meet you at Keevil BTW

Edited to add - just remembered this one too...

Problem - water leak from passenger side just behind the front wheel.
Solution - if you have not washed the car lately it could be a coolant leak from where the hose is attached to the radiator. Usually it is because everything has got hot and expanded. Clip/nut (dunno quite what it is) needs tightening.

Good idea. Of all the forums on PH, this one is probably the most constructive and interesting. It would be good to focuss the learning curve into one publication.

I think it would also be constructive and interesting to send such a manual to the factory. You never know....they might start tackling some of the root causes?

Here's a couple:

EFI warning coming on after a jet wash or downpour is probably due to the water run off going directly onto the plugs. Once car is run and warmed through it will disappear.

Door encoder is susceptible to water ingress. which could account for erractic windows or window not dropping when door is opened. Solution is buy new ones and coat them in RTV.

If I think of any more I'll write them down. There must be loads.

Wouldn't mind a detailed explanation of how the change the throttle cable...

A title for the manual...

How about 'They all do that sir'

Not wanting to spoil a good idea, but would the Tuscan owners forum (Yahoo) not be a better place - after all they have started some useful-looking databases on problems and modifications......

Good point - However I must be seriously dense because I find the Yahoo system totally unusable and despite being registered with Yahoo for the Staffs TVRCC info can never get anywhere near the Tuscan Users Group.

Like I say, whilst I may suffer from internet-mither I do find the Pistonheads forum is far more usable...

Maybe thats something for the manual, getting to the Tuscan Users Group for dense people like Dai Capp!

All the Best

I must admit the same. I have stopped using the Yahoo site.
This one is much more user friendly.

Thanks so far Guys and galls.

I have got my son working on a basic database. But not had much resposnse yet. Quite suprising when looking at all the niggles and probs we get. If it takes off, I will host a site just for the database.

What about correct tyre pressures, I have been told 22psi all round for 18" on Tuscan S.

Current TVR manual says 25psi for 18 inchers on a Tuscan S (though the tyre sizes are the old 235/40 front, 245/40 rear, rather than the current 255/35 alround).

When I picked up my S last week I was told by Henley Heritage that the recommended pressure was 22 all round. There seems to be some conflicting advice? Can anyone confirm what they should be????
