KEEVIL - THANKS TO SIMON AND ALL
Discussion
I am sure that you will all join me in saying thanks to Simon for organising a fantastic day. Well done.
I learnt a lot from many of you as well as having some serious fun.
Well done to all at Motorsports as well for a very well organised and run day.
We could not have wished for better organisation, planning and well, what can I say- Simon you must be in with the Big Man for booking the weather as well.
If you are looking - thanks also to Geoff in the Caterham - who taught me racing lines, braking and pulling out of tight spaces(I hope you liked the 360 spins!!!)

Thanks for that!
I think the major thanks has to go back to you all for having the guts to get involved and to push yourselves out there and ultimately enjoy yourselves even though the heat conditions were starting to edge onto the Severe meter!
I'm sitting here barely able to open one eye now due to the incredibly hot weather that we enjoyed/suffered/tolerated/loved ? whatever
Your right though, it was a cracking day, even though I seemed to end up being Head of Airboxes and little rubber tubes!!! I only got through half a tank of gas after all that, and didn't really kill off my tyres
Yes, huge thanks to Ed Moore and his team at Motorsport Events - very professional, and I'm glad that you found the instruction worth while
I know you all ended up spending a lot of money on Hotels and fuel etc, but the actual day was bloody good value for what you got - given that a throttle cable is £50 and only lasts about two or three minutes!
I have to also say that the standard of driving was very high (well by my standards anyway!)
Also, I loved the look on the faces of all those people that tried to fill up with fuel at that BP Garage this morning - priceless!
more later
thanks again, glad you got home safely

I'd also like to say thank you to all those that where there. It was a great day and driving standards where very good.
I realise that a large number of people there where new to track driving and you could see loads of improvement through out the day and watching you all pull away down the straights just made me want a power upgrade . The Caterham bunch (mine was the furry one) where made very welcome and we all had a great day.
Cheers to Ed and 'tash for the great layout and smooth running of the day, Hullavington (another airfield that they use) is another great layout that you lot should have a go at.
Hope the two guys I gave passenger rides to enjoyed themselves. To everybody else - don't be shy when it comes to asking for a passenger ride on track days most people have no problem with it, even if in a seven it feels quite a lot slower with all that extra ballast

Fantastic day, hats off to you Simon for getting it all sorted. Annual event perhaps ?
It was brilliant meeting everyone - fixing a few throttle cables - beer and pie on the Sunday night!
I was very impressed by the ethusiasm and patience of the instructors - I learnt so much. In terms of handling I can see how much faster I can be if you go in a little slower, and power all the way out of the corner as you straighten up - sliding nicely if want
Anyone got any photos online yet ? How about the passengers who were taking videos of the convoy to the circuit - they must be great!
Did the Porsche 996 Carrera 4 retire sick ? It sounded very dicky when I last saw it crawling about the pits. I think that would be the only casualty of the day
Cheers,
A very tired and sore Andy.
P.S. That must have been you Michael behind us (the two Tuscans) on the A4 ?

I learnt how quick this bloody thing!!!!!!!!goes!
They are quick, stick like anything but oh so much fun!!!!
I learnt so much about the handling and balance of the car and am so much more prepared then I previously was if they car were to step out of line!!
Alan.
Yes and I learnt how bloody quick an 'S' stops - now I want a brake upgrade! Also I noticed that your S seems to have better poise in the corners, therefore the suspension does seem to be better (straw poll)
Interesting thing that Martin in the Noble said that he couldn't keep up with the S's on the straights - don't get too excited, this just means that he couldn't overtake them! Of course most of this depends on how fast you exit a corner, and that depends on how quickly you get through the corners! All very complicated
Good driving from you Alan, given that that was your first day out giving it death, and well done for putting a spanking clean paint job on the track with confidence. The surface was very clean, probably cleaner than some roads that we drive on. I don't think stone chips were at all a problem.

Your one didn't seem to have any problems stopping when you took me out for a ride!
Yes but you didn't actually have the brake pedal Ed ! It was almost lock-up at the front time, the S seemed somehow more controlled
I must get one of those plastic steering wheels for the passenger side, then when you passenger with me again you can help out with the oversteer!!!!!`
Michael - Really ? What car was it ? We were driving pretty much at the speed limit (too tired to go faster). I think they have to stop you to nick you.
Funny about the Noble - I thought my ordinary 4.0 was just as fast (straights and corners) - I think the track really does shows differences between drivers rather than the cars. The Noble should be faster round the bends......
Brakes - have you got drilled brakes Simon ?
I've doubly convinced myself after yesterday that an upgrade to an S would be a waste of £20k - I'd be better off learning how to get the most out of my "ordinary" Tuscan.
2nd hand Tuscan hunters - you're onto a really fast car bargin!
Cheers,
Andy.

Me'n'Ace-T would like to add our thanks so Simon and the guys at Motorsport Events for organising a truly fabulous day at Keevil. Tuition was very good, driving standards and behaviour on the track were very high, and the whole event ran smoothly
The track at Keevil was nice and clear, and with so little grit that the couple of hours I spent applying Trackshield to all the vulnerable spots on the car seemed unnecessary.
Also, a big thank you to Martin for taking me round in the Noble - what an awesome car!
The best bit? Being part of a huge convoy of Tuscans heading to Keevil was just amazing - the looks on people's faces was something to see

Just wanted to add my thanks to Simon, Ed and Natasha, as well as the rest of the Motorsport Events team and the instructors for a great day.
It was good to put more PH names to faces, and the whole event was great fun, from the convoy down from the M25 with Alan, Joanna, Andy and Tom, to the pie and pint at the rather nice B&B, and the mass Tuscan convoy to the airfield!
I think my sat-nav suffered from the heat a bit though, and picked a somewhat odd route home! Luckily Joanna and I made it back to the safety of the M4 eventually!
So... when's the next one???
