I sure this has been asked before but I could not find the thread. My gear stick and hand brake have started to get very hot when i am using the car. I now they warm up( it always has) but lately it gets so hot i had to put a cloth on it. I took it back to the garage and got the usual answer to all TVR problems, they all do this. They said they have checked the seal and it is ok. I dont know if i am being fobbed off or not. Can any one help.

Brand new last september. Thats why I think there is a problem because this has only just started to happen.

Apparently there was a heatsink mod for the gear knob to prevent it getting too hot.

Don't have anymore details, but a call to your dealer might reveal more.

Hope this helps

Same problem was fixed recently.

Mine came off in my hand and when I took it to Racing Green, Phil Keen (Tuscan Challenge driver) sorted it for me and I noticed a ruber washer that had fallen apart which stopped the heat conducting through to the gearstick....yours could have the same problem.

The pod got so hot this weekend all digi readouts failed....just too hot!

Mine was brand new last October. Gear stick never really gets too hot.
Wasn't you I saw in a Tuscan near Keyworth co-op the other week was it? (Mine was Rosso Pearl Tuscan S).

I also have a sep. 2002 Tuscan, the only time the gear and handbrake get too hot is when I have the roof off in bright sunshine, then they get really hot! If the roof is on, they are not a problem.

In the last week or so mine have become very hot too, don't know how but it must be weather related.
