Washing the car last night, I noticed the offside exhaust seemed loose. When I looked under, I found the tailpipe stub cracked at the box.The whole exhaust seems loose further along near the engine. Does anyone know where the next joint is along the exhaust, near the front?
I'll get it on the ramp tonight, and either weld it in place, or take it off completely.....saves disconnecting the battery.
I think I probably caused this, when fitting the CCC exhausts, as the offside one took a bit of yanking to get off. A wee bit longer, and I would be minus a shiney, and very loud CCC............worth checking your own later

For some reason the offside can on mine was difficult to get off the CCC ones are actually a better fit.Anyway after re-fitting the CCC exhaust gave the exhaust supports a check over & can't seem to re-call anything up by the cats only a support to the rear by the back boxes which is just an 'L' shaped rod welded to a the back box & then this is supported in a rubber bush off which there seemed to be more play in the offside than the nearside.

Job done.....Nick, the problem with the sideways play turned out to be the "L" shaped hanger bolt in the centre. It has a nut on either side of the bracket, and these were loose, causing the exhaust to swing sideways, and crack the weld round the stub!........1 hour and I'm happy again
I've made a wee drawing, for your amusement

One of my exhaust brackets broke just before Keevil. Before I read this though!

Does that mean that the height of the exhausts can be adjusted by raising the bracket a bit? One of my cans is lower than the other and it really annoys me when I see the car from behind (which lets face it, is the view most people get so I want it to be right.)

Yes, you can adjust the height and side to side position of the exhaust cans by adjusting the hangers.

I've had the offside hanger drop off, replaced it and since had it crack the mounting bracket through metal fatigue. I suspect this is due to the fact that the offside hanger bracket has a slot in it while the nearside one has an elongated hole. So the offside bracket has a tendency to splay out from the hanger bolt that is clamping it.
