Passenger side seat belt has thrown a hissy fit and now refuses to come out to play. Is there some secret technique to get it to realease, or do I have to get the spanners out to remove the top bolt to create enough slack for it to release (and it so, are there any hidden 'gotchas' in doing this)?

Have the same problem intermitantly can be a real pain in ths a*** this is what i do,- make sure the car is on level ground as any slight incline can make it lock and then very slowly pull it out, it may take a few attempts just perservier i also found by putting shoulder type pads on the webbing helps because the belt is about 6inchs out you have to look hard and long to get some black plain ones with no "boy racer" writing on i was told of a permanant mod to cure however i can,t think what it was .ANYBODY?? tony

That did it - Thanks!

We were parked on a hill when it happened. The driveway is flat though. Just pulled ever so slowly and it released.

Cheers again

"They all do that, Sir"
Mine does this anytime there's a slight downward incline, but always frees itself on the level or going uphill. I spoke to Chris at TMS and he told me it's because the belt reel is mounted at an angle and if it gets a pain, the bracket can be modified to prevent locking up. I've not heard of anyone making the mod and personally I'd prefer not to fool around with the limited amount of safety equipment there is.

Yep, mine to. It only does it on an angle but is a real pain though.

Yep, got the T shirt, a right bummer on anything but level surface. Glad to know I'm not alone!

Another one of those TVR oddities. My girlfriend couldn't believe it (she loves german cars!) when I told her to wait until we got on a level piece of road before her seat belt would work.

But she still prefers to go in my Chim when the weather is good, so maybe I will convert her one of these days. Not hopeful though.

Lots of cars do that...

My wifes 406 coupe was particulary sensitive..
So was a boxter and various bmw I've recently had a go in.
