My drivers side window has started to make a high pitch
sqeal when getting in and out of the car and of course when you lower it the window appears to be catching on the rubber. What can i use to get rid of the noise with out contaminating and dirtying the glass/rubber, i did a quick search but nothing turned up any one else had this problem! makes a change from "fish fingers" i surpose having said that i had to but 1 litre of mobile one after 320 miles
Will have to keep an eye on that one. TONY

Hi Tony,
I always keep the rubbers lubricated no matter where they are on the car, ie on the roof panel, rear window panel, doors or windows, I have used vaseline, but now just keep a little tub of Hep2O "plumbers kit" "it can get messy" so I keep a roll of kitchen paper in the boot for a final clean whether it's the hands or bodywork that needs it. It works a treat no squeaks and it always keeps the rubbers moist.

Best Regards.

Are you sure its the rubber causing the squeal? I noticed similar noise from my passenger window and after closer inspection noticed fine scratches on glass. I queried this with dealer and they found that the glass had been sliding against the motor from new and that a protective tape or something had been put there in the factory to prevent this. The tape had worn through so now it is glass against motor. Needless to say new glass on order and hopefully prob solved.
