Been told by dealer that the reason new Tus pops from fuel tank is due to 'air pockets' when getting near empty. I get mine when full, and sometimes more like bombs going off from behind!!
Anyone else get this?
Is the reason for it true?
Or am I about to blow up!

NO your exhaust should make exploding noises not your fuel tank. This was common on griffs/chim's but never heard of it on a Tuscan. There should be a breather hose that runs forward to the carbon cannistor in the front o/s wing, I guess this is not connected or blocked. Who's your dealer ?

I posted a thread on this a couple of months ago, as I had same prob. Nothing serious, and by the replies I got, this is quite a common prob.I tend not to tighten cap too hard, just enough to grip, and since then no bangs from tank. I have heard that swapping the cap for a Levens aftermarket also should cure the problem.

Bizarre, I thought this was the exact reason that fuel tanks were supposed to vent...

I first filled my Tuscan to the brim on the way home from the dealer. It had 1800 miles on the clock and it became obvious that the previous owner had never filled the tank as a large quantity of Optimax appeared in the boot floor after a short period. A little digging around under carpet later the source of the leak became apparent. The breather hose was not connected to the tank. Not only that but the hose was the wrong internal diameter for the breather attachment to the tank. I fixed it in short order with a bit of pipe and a modified VW Polo fuel filter as an adaptor.

Don't trust that Blackpool have put your fuel system together correctly. If you think there is a problem have it investigated or if you feel brave have a go yourself.
