Air movement from exhaust...
Discussion
Bit of an odd one this...
Tuscan has seemed down on power, particularly accelerating in 5th...
Stood behind the car with the engine running last night and the air movement is greatly different from one exhaust to the other, ie put your hand a few inchs off the tail pips and one is getting blown and the other isn't, hardly. Just for the record, the left hand pipe as you look is the one doing the huffing and puffing.
Got the wife to blip the throttle and they sound completely different too.
Any ideas what's going on...
Cheers

The exhaust is split into two, each side serving 3 cylinders. If one is blowing more that the other then it's either a large leak elsewhere in that exhaust, which you'd notice, or or maybe the throttles badly out of balance meaning half the engine is not breathing as much as the other.
I'd nip to the dealer, but I could be wrong, all IMHO of course.
I trust we are talking speed 6 here, only I notice you've a Griffith pictured in your profile, in which case all the above is cobblers!

Robert,
Yes, we're talking Tuscan... I really ought to get a new pic done!
Interesting about the throttle side of things, I've just had new throttle bodies in so it could be that they've bedded in unevenly...
I'm away to the dealers on Saturday so at least I'll be more informed!
Cheers

yep, it needs a quick once over from your dealer. The S6 engine management actually runs 3 cylinders separately from the other 3 and needs to be set up and balanced correctly. Sounds like yours needs rebalanced. You will see the mechanics at TVR dealers holding their hands infront of the S6 exhausts to quickly tell if the exhaust is pulsing correctly.
I would not drive it hard until they sort it.

I had this just before my engine went POP and I mean Just, about 10 minutes!!!!!
It could be a value that is seating wrong and it this is the case its head off time...
But on the other hand it could be any number of things, but get it to your dealer pronto and get them to see to it!
I hope its just a blown exhaust...

Bertie,
That is one horny car mate. Drifting wildly from the thread I know, but this warrants it!
Any chance you are near Guildford, to take a Tuscan owner for a spin!??? LOL
James
(Edited to mention have just read your profile properly and you're miles away! DAMN)

Will check in on the Ferrari forum!
I was very sad to see the Tuscan go as I'd really enjoyed it, and hopefully the new owner will to.
However this was rather overshadowed when I first saw my 360 in the flesh being PDI'd.
In brief summary, yes it's everything I expected and more,I'm over the moon. The road presence and the noise are fantastic and the whole thing feels so well built.
Somehow it just feels so special, I've only done 70 odd miles in it so far so it's rather too early to comment a lot further but, wow!!

It went to James Agger but I understand he's sold it within 3 days.
I have to say the depreciation on the Tuscan was rather dissapointing.
There was a time when TVRs held their value very well, now they appear to be just average.
My tuscan lost £15,500 in 22 months, which hurt. Probably the worst had happened and it wouldn't have lost much more in the next 12 months.
And before anyone says it, yes I know the 360 will loose more in actual money, but probably not as much % wise, and I don't care!!
