I didn't bother to get aircon on my Tuscan in 2000 - I had poor experiences of earlier TVR aircon and didn't trust them to do it right first time in the Tuscan. Also, probably more importantly, I live in Edinburgh and am still waiting for that hot day to arrive!

Now I'm thinking of taking the car to the south of France later in the year and now think ... aircon. Has anyone had aircon fitted post-purchase? ... How much? Who? or does it have to be Blackpool?

I think Luca Brazzi who posts on here had it retro-fitted on his Tuscan back at Blackpool. I did a quick search but couldn't find the right thread although I know it's on here somewhere. Perhaps Luca will spot this and give you the info.

2K I hear and in theory, as effective as an original factory fit

I have had aftermarket aircon fitted to my tuscan at the factory in Blackpool. A certain former main dealer misadvertised the car as having A/C and despite not admitting their error 'repaired' the inoperative A/C. 'They all do that Sir'. I didn't tell them I had had the bonnet off and knew what the real problem was. It was a source of much merriment chez mcspreader. Needless to say they didn't share with me the cost of the enterprise but i am led to believe that Mr Wheeler will be happy to fit A/C for the original option cost of £1900. Ouch! Wonder if anyone got fired for that little error.
