Flashing Tuscan!
Discussion
I had a bit of a strange experience last night. Driving along a single NSL carriageway at about 10pm, I was following another car who was doing about 40 and weaving around a bit. It crossed my mind that he may be a bit worse for wear, and was waiting to overtake when he slowed even more and then stopped in the middle of the road!
This road runs through Epping Forest, so was very dark, and I initially thought that there was something on the road (injured animal or motor cyclist), but the driver got out of his car and started walking towards me! This was slightly unnerving, and I started to wonder whether Armourfend protects against numpty-splat.
I had a quick glance behind me to see if I could reverse out of there, but another car had pulled up behind me so I wound down the window an inch or so, and he asked if I had a problem - obviously I replied no, but then he asked why I was flashing him!
I pointed out that I hadn't been flashing him, but he wouldn't have it! A few "Yes you were", "no I wasn't" were exchanged, and as he went to get back in his car, his parting words were "Don't be silly booooy, you were flashing me"!!
I've also noticed a few people flashing me coming the other way at night before, so have asked Castle to check the headlight alignment as it's in for it's 1000 mile service now.
Is this something that anyone else has experienced?

Yes. Same story, but on a country road with a middle aged woman (not scary) who wondered if there was something wrong with her car.
I've driven back from Castle with a Tuscan behind me and the light does vary quite a bit depending on the angle on incident. I think even if the lights are adjusted properly, because the car has projector lamps the light quality fluctuates as the lights travels through a different part of the lens as the nose of the car bobbles up and down, it looks like the car is flashing you. It doesn't help that the car has stiff suspension and so bobbles more.
I get a few flashes from people coming towards me. If it's any comfort I used to get the same in my Fiat Coupe which also had projector lamps.

I don't think I'll be doing this - if my car is any blacker, it will start sucking in all available light, and before you know it will be absorbing small planets!
Which would be cool!
Going to France for La Mans next week. I hadn't considered the need for altered lights. My dipped beam does seem to ride high on the rear of other cars, and yes I've been flashed many times (!!?!!). Asked TMS to check them, but they said it was OK.
Anyone know what the reg's are for the continent and how to go about altering Tuscan headlights?
Just don't want to atract attention from the wrong type i.e. the ones with sticks and no sense of humour!

Not come across any stickers for the headlamps, they can be adjusted from the back of the lamps, but this involves removing the bonnet, removing the inspection covers, undoing all the bolts on the lamps and then putting it all back together again - and all this on the ferry as you want them legal in the UK as well - so the preferred route is to do as the foreigners do when they come to the UK and just ignore it - how many foreign cars do you see in the UK with black stickers on their lights???
I spent 18 months in Holland without converting my lights and never had a problem
Graham - the stickers must have fallen off officer, I will get some more at the next garage
