New Tuscan Pics (phwaorrr isn't it pert)
Discussion
At last I've got some photos to post of 'trevor' - as christened by my lovely girlie -
http://community.webshots.com/user/garyflanagan
Had him for about 5 weeks now and am thrilled by owning such a capable and truely gorgeous motor car. Spec is GTS Blue Pearl with Portland grey & Prusian blue hide, Prusian s/wheel, lamonta trim & hydratrak. 2002 ex-demo car, now with 7.5k on the clock. No problems to report so far except it needed two new window encoders before collection from Kerridges (very courteous and helpful dealer indeed).
The attention it is getting in Ireland is rather nice - lots of friendly types asking questions and leaving fingerprints on the windows. The Swordfish connection is a popular theme, as most have never seen a Tuscan in the plastic before. Porchse 911 driver even stopped and flashed me into a side turn last night (that doesn't happen in an Escort Cossie).
I'd joined the TVRCC before thinking of buying and had a chat with the TVRCC at a recent sports car show in Belfast where I blagged a seat in a Tuscan - at that point I knew I was on the slippery slope to Tuscanhood. Well now the bank is empty and the garage is full of curvacious TVR - I know it's the right decision.
Impressions so far compared to old Escort Cossie - fantastic noise, quicker, more charismatic, very pointy steering, bit of a crowd pleaser really, bit squirmy under heavy braking - just hold on tight, demands respect when driving quickly. Criticisms: damping - could be much better (will be changing the suspension for some Nitrons having read all the good reports in here). A couple of foibles on build quality related issues - driver's door sits out a bit round the bottom and one of the Tuscan badges fell off the back of the seat.
Another plus is that you are all are so friendly and helpful in here I've already picked up and used a few tips - on the squeky rear screen and putting a velcro strip along the roll-over hoop behind the roof to protect this area. Worked a treat.
I'd a good trawl in here for a few weeks before buying and your passion for the car convinced me that it wouldn't be a mistake.
Thanks guys,
Gary.

Thanks guys,

Luverly Tuscan Gary - you should come along to some of our meetings. Great people in the NI Club and always something in the offing. Where are you based? Give me an e-mail with contact details. Or phone Colin, RO and he will give you my telephone number. We might have a run this weekend.

Hi Alan - thanks for comments on trevor. I do indeed have Colin the RO's number. I missed you guys at the Kirkistown track day on the bank holiday as I was away on holiday.
The next meet I believe is at the Hillside (my local!) on Sunday 1st - however Edinburgh stag weekend means I won't be here then either Looks like it could be Portrush the month after before you'll see me.
'Alan' rings a bell - did I talk to you at the stand at the sports car show?
Gary.

See you on Portrush run - they're the best anyway and hopefully weather will be good then. We saw your Tuscan near the Hillside when we last met there first Sunday in April. Everyone raved about it - sorry about the fingermarks and slabber on the windscreen. Wasn't me that let the tyres down and weed in your fuel tank. We had to drag Colin off kicking and screaming. No wasn't me at Motorshow - could have been Colin or Trevor ( the one that obviously made a big impression on your GF).
Catch up with you sometime soon.
Alan

Gary you spoke to Trevor who owns the Tuscan, I left the card on the windscreen for you at the Hillside.
Tell me, was your car in Scotland before you got it at Kerridge's ?
1 of our boys swears he nearly got her in Scotland, she is very nice, in fact is the same spec that I want for the 350C,when the Lotto comes up!
If you drop me an email I will send you the address list,
See you in July,
Colin L
Alan - yes indeed that was my car outside The Hillside. I managed to get it stationary on the hill by leaving it in gear - the handbrake really is a big bag of poo - they don't call it The Hillside for nothing eh I don't think it would pass an MOT - but I've read they are all pretty naff.
I'm really chuffed with the colour (GTS Blue Pearl)as it wasn't one that I'd originally considered - it was just lying about at Kerridges when I went over to have a looksie at a Reflex Purple job. The interior is a great combo too IMHO, blue & grey esp. with the Lamont roof and door inserts.
Colin - it IS from Scotland originally. Kerridges bought it from Logik when they went bust. Luckily Stephen had not had time to advertise it and I turned up just in the right place at the right time. I drove both the car that I'd originally gone over to see (which I did not like at all - terrible suspension i.e. there wasn't any) and this one. The spec is right and it has the latter suspension - I'm really chuffed with it.
I see G7 TVR (Cerbie) out and about quite a bit locally which was at the Belfast show, and of course Trevor's charcoal Tuscan outside his business premisesin Lisburn.
Am currently coaxing another friend into buying a Tuscan - he's short listed 2 to go over to see this weekend, work permitting.
I got your card on the windscreen - thanks Colin. Look forward to seeing you NI guys soon.
