Being a new member i dont know if a thread of this kind may have been posted before, if so, I apologise. I was wondering about the average age of Tuscan drivers, or even just TVR drivers in general. Who is the oldest TVR driver on here? Who is the youngest? I take delivery of my new Tuscan S on 1st Sept and at that time I will be 21, any drivers below 18? I'm very interested in what your insurance would be!!!

Hiya Essex, I bought my car a day before my 23rd birthday and so far lovin it. Insurance wise- i'm paying £2400 with my dad and a mate on the premium, which isn't bad considering i only had 1 year NCB...

InEssex,

Well I'm now 34 (still class myself as young ) and my Tuscan S was with Mannings @ £1000 (only TVR track days) but am now changing to Sunninghill @£620 + all track days...clearly was being ripped off.

Mate, you should come along to the next Mid-Essex meet to meet all of us and will give you an opportunity to get a lot of these questions you are posting answered.

I'm obviously one of the oldies !!, brought my Tuscan when I was 42 ( now 43 ), and am paying £530 with protected bonus etc with Sunninghill. Previously owned a Chimaera for six and a half years. Love 'em both, awesome .

I am one of the older ones at 41, but have been lucky enough to have been owning TVR's since I was 29.

I am really interested in attending a meet, so thanks for the invite. Will probably go to the first one after i get my car. Not too sure my VX220 would be greatly appreciated if i was to come along sooner.

I am 33 and have just bought my 2000 Tuscan, which is my first TVR. If I'd been able to buy a Tuscan at 21 I probably wouldn't be around now.

InEssex,

Don't worry about the VX220 we all sympathise with you so long as you park it around the corner from the golf club we meet at...you won't be embarrassed!!

Seriously, I think it would be beneficial if you attend sooner as you will get to meet some great people and be able to fully appreciate the TVR experience and what you have let yourself in to...ie loads of fun as you fly by VX200's on the road

We meet every 2nd Sunday (you just missed last Sunday)at the Forresters Golf Club in Mid-Essex...can meet you along the route somewhere next month if you like and you can follow me up....hey if you can catch me!!

Alan.

I'm 33 now, and have my Tuscan for 2 months.
It's my second TVR, and before that I had an Elise.
Tuscan is the best car by far, and I really don't know what car can replace it, as sportscars don't come any better than a Tuscan...
All IMHO of course.

I picked up my TVR when I was 23 (albeit only for a couple of months). Insurance was around 1700 which I paid pro-rata til my policy year end in June. By that time I was 24 and it dropped to around 1600. I should think at 21 though you're looking at easily over 2000.

I'll be 52 on 2nd.,July.

The Griffith was a 50th Birthday present to myself. I've always had sports cars though - Healeys, TRs, 280SL, Stag, Alfa Spider, etc. Still have a '69 TR6 and '76 Alfa Spider - both of which I restored from ground up. When I got the Griffith(4.3precat) I decided that driving them was better than restoring them.

Who's the oldest TVR owner/driver?
