Just been out for a thoroughly fab blast to Norfolk , but had to keep my overtaking manouvers frustratingly slow. Every time I pass 75 - 80mph (which for reasons of safety does happen when overtaking!!), one of the roof locking pins seems to let go leaving an inch or so gap where the roof should meet the roll bar. Despite the usual cabin accoustics, this makes for quite a shock. The pin does seem to be protruding fully, though the roof does seem a tight fit?
I guess its due to the superstructure flexing at speed or even an aerodynamic issue that triggers it to happen (repeatedly!). Does anyone have any experience of this problem or a possible solutions. I can't be the only one...

I think it's just trying to point out that why would you have the roof on?!

It sounds like your pin isn't seating in the hoop attached to the roof. You can peer at the pin when the roof is on to see if it is lodged properly through the hoop. As the manual suggests, you should press down on the roof when locking it on using the lever in the boot to help the pin locate. You can adjust the hoop if necessary using an allen key.

Cheers,

Andy.

I had this problem on an early Tusc I had a few years ago, it could be that the cables have stretched, they can sometimes be adjusted, but if not, it is unfortunately quite a labour intensive (and therefore expensive) job to fit new ones due to the loction of the cables.
