Wow - after what seemed like ages waiting, but was in fact only about 7 weeks from the day I placed my order, I collected my Tuscan S from Castle.
What can I say - it sounds fantastic, looks fantastic, and is an amazing car in every respect!
A friend of my mum who I took out for a spin summed it up really when he turned round to me and said "this is the sexiest car I've ever seen - you are a very lucky man"
Initial thoughts on it compared to my '99 Griffith 500 are that it feels so much more planted to the road - less roll in the corners, and much less squat/diving under power and braking. It feels much more chuckable, and seems to stick to the road like shit to a blanket.
It also feels more solidly built, and you don't seem to get the same crashing noises when you drive over bad road surfaces.
It also feels very light - the merest touch of the throttle will send you into warp factor 9, and the steering, gear change, hand brake and clutch all feel fantastic - none of this hauling on the handbrake with all your strength just to engage it!
Noise wise, it sounds brilliant too - I still miss the deep burble of the Griffith, but the Tuscan just sounds evil, and the exhaust note tells you to go faster and faster!
All I can say is what a car! I am indeed a lucky man!

Excellent! Got my "S" a few weeks ago and the wife is having difficulty in prising me out of the car I have never driven anything like this car (my work horse is a Jaguar S Type) and it's bly fantastic. Best thing I've done is go on a Ride Drive course. Great fun and I have learnt a lot. The course really "sealed" the car in for me.
Congratulations. Very evil colour combination.
Got my Tuscan now for 1 month, and I can guarantee you
that you will like the sound much much more as soon as
the car is run in. When you make more revs (only after
1000 miles), you get a fantastic metallic sound.
The exhaust seems to pop more too on the overrun.
You will like the car even more in a couple of weeks !

your pictures are making me cry
i got a note from my tvr dealer in germany that my tuscan s lhd (grigio titanio perlescent, with red full hide/black stitching) was ready for pickup beginning last week in blackpool. so i wired the funds.
due to a misunderstanding with the wire, a holiday in germany on thursday and a holiday at the island today i spent the weekend sitting on my porch & staring at the sun with 28 degrees outside. i felt so f?.! up that i even refused to get my ducati on the road.
it looks like my tuscan will hit germany tomorrow tuesday may 5th. imaging my nite.
keep the fire burning,

by the way thanks to the folks at castle tvr (special thanks to michael cane for taking me on the road) for the testride and addicting me to tvr.

NickD,
Castle TVR are the main drivers of this change. The factory use the salesman at Castle 'Ian Cunningham' to spec their show cars...so Ian has some influence at the factory. My car was also spec'd with the aluminium and IMHO its looks so much better.
Think the factory have done the odd few cars for other dealers but Castle are the main dealers for this change in spec.
