If you unscrew and remove the centre console you will find
2 small black boxes with multi plugs coming off them underneath.
I think from memory they also have a sticker with "door module"
on it so you know you have the right ones.Make sur you have the doors
closed and unplug the modules and plug them back in, this should
reset them and may cure your problem as it did on mine. While they
are unplugged just check the pins and plugs are in good condition.
Hope this helps.

Sometimes when I open the drivers door from the inside, the window only lowers a little and it catches on the roof when it opens/closes. Locking and unlocking the car sorts it every time, i'm just assuming the car gets confused as to how high/low the windows are (this usually happens after i've had the window open) ?

Hi all,

Mine doesn't do this but I have had problems with the encoder/door ECU in the past. It seems to me that perhaps you are missing pulses from the encoder being sent to the ECU when the window comes down. It might be worth checking the connections inside the door panel where the encoder loom connects to the main door loom back to the ECU and also the connections on the encoder PCB itself. Also, and this is not so easy to get at, the main multi-way "Mil-spec" connector which connects the door loom to the car loom (located in-between the door hinge) can be prone to water ingress which can corrode the terminals. A bit of a clean up and spray with WD40 might help things,

Just a thought,

Andy

spray contact cleaner past the window seal onto the PCB hidden in the centre of the door.

Mine has just started doing the smae pretty much this afternoon for no reason? ?
The window goes up and down still with the dial but seems a bit slower than other side. But when you press to get out the car at first it was not lowering at all and just poping straight open and getting caught. Now a few hours later it lowers at least when you get out or in, then lowers a little more?? before when shut not going back up all the way. And when you lock it just leaves a little gap. I assume the thing has got confused with where they are and by removing the modules like said above it will cure it, any advice welcome.

Oh and should the LED's flash or not randomly as your driving along? The passenger one does the drivers doesnt!

On another note I fitted HID's today and its a vast improvement and looks very cool too.

on some window mechs if you put the windows right down on your switches and keep your fingers on it it should start to click keep your finger on it let it click for 10 - 15 seconds and it should reset the window settings it does this on most frameless doors where the glass has a drop down upon opening.

Mine does exactly the same as Goon1001's.
I thought it was a feedback problem or bad connection.
To do this resetting idea of the window all the way down, I guess you just keep turning the knob !!!

Has anyone reset theirs this way.

I removed my door card and cleaned all the multi plug connections ans then sprayed them with damp start to seal them. Sorted out the problem and also was able to pour away the little swimming pool in the door card that had accumulated!

Thanks for all your comments, its very weird but my TVR has once again repaired itself, the window has started working again. When I first got my car the dealer said more often than not the little problems fix themselves, I thought he was taking the p*ss but its true, I've had lots of little problems that have repaired themsleves after a night of rest in the garage.

Thanks for this, pulled my tuscan out of the garage today window went down as usual.Got out of the car to shut the garage door and widow did not come down with the door switch. Got on google and this popped up.Unplugged the door controller plugged it back in, plenty of clicking and it now works perfectly. Thanks
