No previous problem with this, but this morning the boot lid release on my Tuscan has been playing up, i.e. press it once and it sounds as if the catch has released but actually hasn't. Press it again and it works.

Have checked it a few times since and seems to be an intermittent fault, sometimes it releases first time, sometimes second.

I will get this checked out at the dealer as the car is still very new..... but has anyone else here had similar problems (and if so, was it an easy fix ?).

Just as back up until I know it is OK again (in case it fails completely), would some kind soul please e-mail me the details on manual access method to get in the boot in emergencies (I remember it being discussed here before but can't find the thread now) ?

This happened to me about 70 miles from work. I had 17litres of fuel

I was pulling and pulling and I think I've warped the boot a little but I had to use the 'Secret' Tuscan Entry System™ to fill up... At home as my wallet was there also...

It's still playing up and should be fixed by Wednesday.

Now behaving again after a quick dealer visit yesterday. Looks like it will be one of those items that will just drift in and out of being a problem from time to time as the mechanism settles and gets tightened up again (etc. etc.) - but at least now I have a better idea about what to do about it.

Thanks to everyone that e-mailed me with help, I replied to each message but I've only just realised that there were some network problems and I may not have got through....

Just found these messages on a search as mine also does this. Anyone any idea what causes it? Is it sticking? If so, WD40 doesn't seem to work.

Racing Green make a kit that is spring loaded and actually pushes the boot up with less effort than actually finding the magic spot on the button .
Saw it in action and it works very well - still lets the hood and everything work fine and dandy.
