Just been hit by a boulder (okay maybe a slight exageration!). Within 30 mins the bullet hole had turned into an 8 inch crack, gutted! Replacement windscreen costing me £60 and being fitted all day Monday by AutoWindscreens. Theyve told me the jobs a challenge but also a nightmare! Is there anything i should be looking out for when they have completed the screen as i have heard it is easy to fit them wrong/badly.

First thing to check is the leather trim around the screen - they have to cut the screen out as it is bonded in, and it is not unknown for the fitter to slice your leather trim!

Also, make sure the screen fits flush to the surround and that the A pillar panels (the little bits running up each side of the screen) are on properly.

It can be done OK by these guys, but I had a nightmare with AutoGlass on my old Chimaera, resulted in new trim and another screen fitted by a dealer

Having said that, the replacement screen on my Tuscan was fitted fine

Good luck

Martin

Check that they stick the top seal on properly - mine came off at 160 + at Buntingthorpe - bit a surprise I can tell you!

What a day. (1)My new front screen ordered by autoglass turned out to be one for a chim - but they only realised that once my old one was in pieces on the floor! (2)Tried to get my roof off so they could strip out the glass and one of the releasing pins snapped but eventually got the roof off and (3) now driving a huge 1.0 litre Corsa until my Tuscan screen arrives - at least Wednesday. Can it get any worse?!!
