Got it! / Help please.

So I've got my car and I love it!
Picked it up Monday and I'm chuffed to bits with the colour choice,
Crystal Topaz / Portland & Prussian.
So just a couple of niggles if you can help??
Firstly the speedo doesn't work. The dial and the digital agree on
Zero mph so I think it might be the sensor end connection. Anyone
know where I can find the wheel speed sensor?
Secondly I've just had "Diagnostics code L" on the display. What is
code L??
The Radio works fine but the CD jumps all the time, even when
stationary with the engine running.
The shift lights flash occasionaly at random, and yes I'm only doing
2 - 3000 rpm.
Mine has got the centre brake light and it ver well integrated into
the rear header rail. Also I have Toyo tyres and it seems to drive
much less nervously than the demo car I drove.
These last 4.0 ltr cars like mine have the revised pick up positions
and what was the Red Rose suspension set up and uprated brakes.
Roll on the 1000 mile service !

I agree the dealer should sort that out. Code L is the metal fuel gauge sticking and not reseting itself. This will need a binnacle rework. BEWARE do not therefore rely on the metal fuel gauge use the digital. ( I think I've remembered the code correctly.) Mine does it on hot days over 32 c in the car, when the metal expands. Doesn't bother me though.
Your dealer shouldn't have let you have the car with these faults, give them a bell and they should sort them out. If you can't be bothered to take it in early well just make them aware and hang on for the 1000miler.

Yep the car is now 3 days old.
The CD changer I've cured myself by setting the changer suspension to the correct orientation - clearly the factory don't read the instructions.
I've spoken to the dealer who are very appologetic and offered to sort them immediately but if I can do it myself in 10 mins it's easier.
The code L is "erratic / not functioning road speed sensor" which accounts for the speedo not working.
It's a magnetic pickup on the crownwheel of the diff and the distance is critical to get a good signal.
I'll have a quick look but I think it's a dealer job. To be fair to them it seemed OK when I first picked it up and it's got gradualy worse.
Oh the joys.... Love the car though!

Bertie, I bet you are delighted - can't get much better than a new Tuscan to play with. I expect the first 1,000 miles will come up really quickly in any case. When I got my Griff the dealer just said "keep a note pad in the car and jot anything down that's wrong, there's bound to be something!"
It just made me more keen to get the first 1k ,miles done! Enjoy Rich...
