I've been avoiding speed bumps like the plague as I am worried about the front air splitter on my S grounding and damaging the front end of the car. Some of those bumps are getting pretty big these days! Anybody had any problems with this or am I being paranoid?

As long as you don't go over them at speed. Slow down and you'll be fine.

Speed bumps have to be up to a certain height so you should in theory never crash into a speed hump.

The worst for me is NCPs and when a junction comes on to some major camber and the car is pointing down...

Unfortunately - councils can do whatever speed bump shapes they like . . . pity they don't have a standard "mould"!

Exactly...there seems to be a big difference between your "standard" speed bump and some of the Traffic calming mountains that are on some of the residential estates around Edinburgh....Corstorphine hill springs to mind. As previously mentioned above, I guess the best strategy is to go really slow and avoid known mountains.
