Having worn my bridgestone boots out, it was time to try out a set of Toyos, seeing that TVR fit them as standard nowdays. Booked the car in five days in advance at my local Toyo dealer who on arrival asked my for the geometry settings! Yeah, hold on minute lads i'll just pull them out my a**e. Your the dealer maybe you should know them.

Anyway, get the tyres fitted, go home and get the settings and return to dealer. Sorry mate, need the settings in mm not degrees. Go home and phone next closest dealer who upon arrival tells me that I he can't get the 18 inch wheels on his machine, try somewhere else.

Finally I find a toyo dealer who can fit the wheels and can do the full camber, caster and toe setup. Except having looked the car they declare that the camber and caster are non adjustable, so charge me £60 to adjust the toe only. I am sure this is not the case, they just didn't know how to do it.

Is it me or should TVR's recommended tyre dealers be able to do a full geometry set up, know the settings, know how to do it and be able to fit a standard wheel on their machines.......or is it just me?

Apache - I don't think it fair to name the 'dealerships' publicly but suffice it to say that I found them all from the Toyo website under the listing of my nearest toyo dealers.

Simon - I understand that Micheldever is the best place around, but it seems a shame that one needs to travel to the other side of London to get what should be a simple job done. Either that or wait a month and pau £200 to get it done by a dealer. To quote Natwest, there must be another way!
