Just how loud would it be if your finger followers were on the way out? I know some people on this board have had this problem, and it would be nice to know what to look out for, or, would it be soooooo obvious you couldn’t miss it?

Not wanting to temp fate, but pool on the resources of this forum

Sorry Mr Freefall, but mine gave me no indication of any sort - first symptoms were that the car felt like it was running on 'not all pots' (which it wasn't - No.5 had given up the ghost.) My best advice - dont spoil your enjoyment by listening to every little nuance of the car, trying to worry yourself that it's gonna go pop. If its gonna go - its gonna go. Meanwhile enjoy it! Good news is - since mine was fixed, it has been better than ever it was - result!

Just a thought, couldn't oil analysis pick up on the damage being incurred ? A worthwhile precaution ? Or a total waste of money ?
