Stereo upgrades?

I asked for the DAB option when ordering my Tuscan as I have heard many people saying that the standard reception is some what lacking. When I heard the non-DAB radio in the demo car I was not overly impressed with the reception.
My car is now in Kerridges and we had a quick play with the radio the other day, we were amazed how good the reception was! Once tuned into a radio station you could turn the radio right up drowning out the engine, why do that though?! The sound was crystal clear and reception was very strong, Stephen from Kerridges said he was so impressed he was going to recommend it to all future customers!
IMHO go for DAB and you won't regret it!

I think the S comes with the DAB tuner as standard anyway, so I think I'll stick with it! Do they still fit Pioneer head units as standard?
Do you have to get an extra aerial fitted as well? I've seen a couple of pictures of cars with one fitted behind the rear screen, but would prefer not to have one of these if possible.

Tuscan S comes with DAB tuner/cd player as standard.
I've upgraded mine to the Pioneer DEH-p5500MP which can handle both MP3 and WMA formats. This cost an extra £220. Check out Pioneer.co.uk for details.
I don't think rear speakers are worth the effort/money. With roof on standard speakers are fine and with roof off, who the hell wants to listen to music?

Agree with Mr Tuscan S,
They sound better out the back then directed into the side seats...I would rather listen to the engine but if wanted to listen to music...for a small cost stick in the back.
Depends 'ED' how you want to personalise yours to be different from others on the road. Thats whats its all about with TVR!

My Pioneer DAB tuner has great reception in London but rubbish everywhere else.
Difference between DAB and FM is that you don't get a weak signal as such, if the signal deteriorates then the radio cuts out. It is therefore either crystal clear or completely quiet!
I am actually investing is a special aerial to allow me to receive a better FM reception. It is fitted to the fuel filler of all places and is available from
www.mod-wise.com
I personally would prefer to have an FM signal which hissed a bit ever now and then.
The other problem with DAB is that not every radio station broadcasts on it.
