Tuscan S, you should do!! it rocks.
it can crack and pop with regular unleaded! happens most to mine after a run on the motorway.
Yeah but what causes it? Not as a fault but just the process.
Like Turbos make a woosh noise because they suck air... Tuscan exhaust pops because...
...engine acts like a 'power pump' when you push the accelerator fuel is squirted into the engine to make the revs go up - when you take your foot off the gas the engine is still rotating at the same speed and 'sucks' petrol through the engine without igniting it and spits it out through the hot back end where it boils/burns/explodes and makes a noise
..or something like that...hopefully someone will word it better soon...
So does it destroy the cats then ?
That's what I was looking for!
Here, have a gold star!
Unburnt fuel entering the cats will distroy them (eventually)and so does vibration. My Vectr* (sorry own one of them as my sensible car) owners manual say's if the engine backfires stop immidiately and find cause or damage will result to the cats.
Answer is:-
Take them off!
