Hmmmm I doubt they are that similar.
The S has a new suspension setup compared with standard tuscan.
Unfortunately reviews should be taken with a pinch of salt as the TVR press cars do seem to be 'somewhat different' from the cars that reach the customers.
All tuscans I have driven with 18" rims seem to tram line etc. Ive had some rather hairy moments in mine on country back roads.
Ive found the tuscan to be the most unstable car at high speed Ive ever driven, blows around all over the place even with the smallest amount of breeze.
My old Chim 500 was alot better.
Its good fun and all that, but I do have to say (although I never thought I would say it) that sometimes I do wish it would be a bit less of a 'white knuckle' ride and be more refined and solid.
Friend has just taken delivery of new 911 turbo (Urrgh, German tank I know).
Although my tuscan trashes it, the ride and 'feel of safety' is something TVR could do with.
Fun and Games
I drive a standard March 2001 car on 16" wheels. I have driven a std with 18" and personal as an every day car on the public roads it does tramline too much and feels very fidgity, probrbly good on the track though.
The 16" car is far better hardly any tramline and less fidgety, I drive mine hard everyday and now chuck it around with the same abandon as my old Chimaera.
No contest, public roads 16" rule, it was what the chasis was set up on. (Only drawback it doesn't quite look as good - no one can normaly tell though)
I've just got(4 days) my standard 4.0 car and it has the revised suspension and Toyo tyres and seems much more stable than the demo I drove.
Steering feels much less nervous and more inclined to go in a straight line on bumpy roads.
Don't know if it's the suspension or Toyo tyres though the dealer tells me the tyres are a big differance.

The last of the 4.0 Tuscans, and the new 3.6 Tuscans do have modifications to the suspension over the first models.
I have driven the new (51 reg) demonstrator at Mole Valley and it is a lot better set up, and far more comfortable on the 18" wheels than their old X-plate demo.
I have been presuming that this is why there are so many 2000 model Tuscans up for sale, at seemingly low prices, since I presumed people had been "upgrading" to the revised models...
I may be wrong though..!
