O - No communication between analogue and control

Well, picked the Tuscan RED ROSE up on Saturday, and what a beast, it bloody well fly’s!!!!!!!! I even managed to find a dry bit of road and tried a sensible fast start thought the gears, and found myself at post 70mph (no saying how much post) in no time at all.
The response thought the steering wheel is so much better than the Chimp and the drive is very accurate, It no doubt will take me a bit of time to get used to the clutch but when its goes, is goes. I can’t stop grinning. A M3 had a go and he just got blown away!
Anyway, Code 0, anyone actually know what this means? I get this when I start the car up. I do have the car door open as this stops me pushing the accelerator down. I got the list of error codes from this forum last week.
Also when I bomb about the Speedo bounces about all over the show, The TVR Centre are having a look next week so it should be sorted out but any ideas what this could be.
I stick to the oil temp guide as posted here religiously, but is there anything else I should look for? When I checked the oil it need about 1.25ltrs to get it upto max, and that was 900 miles after its 12000 service, is this excessive.
Car has only done 5645 miles from new.

I have always had the diagnostic code "O" come up when switching the ignition on, but always disappears after a couple of seconds, possibly just the initialisation time.
The quoted oil consumption for the Speed Six engine is around 1 litre/1000 miles, but this can vary with use & the type of oil used, if your using Mobil 1 0W40 you get through a lot more than using Castrol RS 10W60.

Yes and of course your checking the oil when the engines warm! Otherwise the accumulator will have drained and you'll get a false oil reading
As to speedo's - the analogue on mine reads vaguely true to the digital when on the Motorway or when general cruising, BUT, as soon as you kick it - the analogue doesn't keep up at all, if anything it starts to slide - i'll say be doing 90-120 and the analogue is reading 70! (not on the cruise but under head-rush conditions!)
Then when you pull up, and maybe on a restart, the display shows Diag code B which is a speedo sync warning code i seem to remember

Re oil consumption mine uses about a litre every 500 miles on 0w40 ever since the 6000 mile service (now on 11500 miles). I was using a about a litre every 1500 miles before then on Mobil S. It does depend on the type of journey, using less on a motorway hual compared with the regular urban/country side commute I do. I think the thing to be wary of is a sudden change of consumption, like down to a litre every 200/250 miles which indicates a problem.

Yep, I did check the oil when it was hot, first off I didn't and the oid didn't even reg on the END of the dipstick!!! But the after warm I put 1 ltr in and it was 3/4 of the way up, so I'm off to find some more Mobile 1 0/40 and just top it up that bit more. As for the speedo, it's all over the place! but yes, only when driving/launching along the road!
God this car is soooo much fun! Like someone said before on this forum, I miss the v8 growl of the Chimp (took it out on Sunday) but the ride and speed of the Tuscan is fantastic!!!!!!!!

Since I got my Tuscan at the End of September I have had two revised speed sensors. It has been with the dealer for 3 weeks firstly to try and fix the speedo, which does exactly as you describe (amongst other things). The analogue speedo also seems to record a higher reading than the digital readout. Got the car back last Friday, having spent another 3 weeks with the dealer whilst they sent the Pod back to TVR to get the problem fixed. Driving about on Saturday, and after 30 mins the fault occurred again, and then recorded zero. The dealer is now contacting TVR to find out what to do next as the fault is not fixed. Will let you know the result if there is one.
Fortunately it has been FOC, as it has been like this since I bought the car from the dealer. Not happy to have been without the car for 6 weeks in all. Hopefully, when I get it serviced next month they can finally sort this out.

Yup, mine is June 2001 also - I think i'm going to live with the variable analogue speedo (VAS huh!) sounds better that way - like it's meant to be, or a hi-fi component! uum, TVR could actually charge more for this FEATURE...sorry

I've had my speedo fixed successfully (about 9 months ago). Part one was to get the recent transponder that picks up the speed (from gearbox or diff I think). This will fix the digital part. The wavey dial problems are fixed by a pod trip to the factory for a few days. If you put it in on Monday it should come back fixed by Friday if they've got their act in gear.

Mine goes in on Saturday, just to have a check-up, but it not scheduled to have work till Wednesday. Amourfend on the front and rear wheel arches on Monday. I WAS hoping to pick it back up for Saturday so I have the car for the Mid Essex meeting on the Sunday.

As soon as I go a constant speed over approx. 70mph, when I slow down the needle just sticks a little which then leads to it being all over the shop until I turn the ignition off and on again.
I've been told that for all speedo faults the pod has to come out for it to be sent to TVR as the dealers don't have the means to fix them. If it's simply giving a diagnostic code reading (correctly) then that can be investigated at the dealers.
Thankfully mine's a warranty repair - it's coming up to its 1st birthday so I decided to get all the niggles sorted out now. The speedo is certainly the most annoying though - see the earlier thread: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=5&h=&t=15650
